Acupuncture points allow entry into channels to influence, redirect, increase, or decrease, the body's vital substance - energy-thus correcting many of our body's  imbalances. Acupuncture has been shown to stimulate the immune system. It also affects the circulation, blood pressure, rhythm and stroke volume of the heart, secretion of gastric acid, and production of red and white blood cells. It also stimulates the release of a variety of hormones that help the body to respond to injury and stress.

Cupping is a method of heat stimulation in which small warm cups are placed on the skin in order to increase local blood supply.  Cupping helps remove impurities from nearby tissues and organs. It also draws out unwanted Qi - life energy- to the body's surface, where it is dispersed.

Moxibustion uses an herbal blend which are burned close to the body to stimulate certain acupuncture points. The purpose is to stimulate and strengthen the blood and the life energy of the body

A targeted acupuncture treatment designed to treat muscular or joint pain in a specific focused area of the body (NOTE: not a full body or relaxing spa treatment) which has resulted from workout injury, overuse, physical dysfunction, trauma, surgery, or degenerative disease. It is especially helpful for conditions for which lasting relief has been elusive, or failed to resolve from any single modality. Along with acupuncture, massage is performed and may be accompanied by cupping, gua sha, or moxibustion. These additional modalities further break up muscle tension, promote the movement of Qi and blood for optimal movement and function.

Forms will be sent out ahead of time to asses health history, insure privacy, and get informed consent. Questions will be asked at the beginning of the session to clarify the nature and location of the issue, and a quick physical exam will all help assess and determine the modalities used and order of treatment. Additional recommendations for self care, nutritional counseling, herbal remedies and supplements will also be made when appropriate.
