After many years in my massage career, I came across Milne Institute which teaches Visionary Approach to Craniosacral, a soothing, noninvasive hands-on therapy, form of bodywork. After all my deep tissue massage training, I was surprised how the delicate touch of the practioner can change the whole being. The transformation into intuitive light touch the weight of a cotton ball was enlightening.
During my training, I learned how to work with brain, spine, cranium, cranium membranes, sacrum and all cranium bones. My main attention during a session is to perceive the client’s entire body and at the same time, notice which part of the body has left concert with the whole. It is a dance between the practitioner and the client to perceive the inner spiritual journey at the emotional and energy level and never judge what is perceived.
Visionary Craniosacral uses the technique of regulating the flow of cerebrospinal fluid, by using therapeutic touch to patient’s skull, face, spine and pelvis. I use my inner ears and inner eyes to touch the right place, at the right time, to allow me to understand what troubles the body and assist the client to unwind their healing process. The goal is to help the client feel more at home in themselves.
I would like to summarize my journey with a poem that we used in my classes, written by legendary singer and songwriter, Leonard Cohen.
Ring the bells that still can ring,
Forget your perfect offering,
There’s a crack in everything
That’s how the light gets in.
